Silver Fox BR Class 114 Derby DMU Conversion Kit

This kit is designed to convert two standard BR Mk1 coaches into a Derby Class 114 DMU.

This kit comprises of:

- Precision cast resin cabs with glazing x 2

- Overlay for brake end of DMBS car

- Laser-cut thin plastic replacement overlay sides with doors scored and with glazing x 2 pairs

- Vinyl self-adhesive grab handles and strips for door handles, grab rails and windscreen wipers

- Exhausts

- Full set of underframe and solebar components

- Supplementary interior parts for cabs

- Parts to modify BR1 bogies to give a more accurate representation of DMU bogies 

For donor coaches 2 x SO or TSO BR Mk1 gangwayed stock with BR1 bogies are required. Bachmann, Hornby, LIMA or Replica types can all be used, although it is advisable not to mix brands within a set.

To fit the overlays, all raised detail will need to be removed from coach sides and a strip removed where the replacement glazing will be fitted.

The ends of the coaches will need to be removed to fit the cabs.

The underframe, coach end and bogie detail will also need to be modified.

A suitable powered mechanism is also required. A Hornby Class 121 or Replica motorised chassis are recommended.
