1996 Land Rover Defender 90 300tdi. 

A rare find, a one family owned 68K miles 300tdi Land Rover!  Only, 68K original miles.  Driving as good as they come! 

This Land Rover was originally supplied by Greens of Haverfordwest to the family I bought it from.  It had been sat in a barn since 2016 when sadly the owner passed away! 

Its has been lightly recommissioned and been kept as original as possible, not restored!

 Mechanicals 

Engine as you could imagine is the sweetest sounding 300tdi I have ever listened to, it runs perfect and started at the flick of a key even when I picked it up after all the years of standing we threw a battery at it and it fired up straight away.  Clutch and gearbox are very pleasant.  Its had a new battery, service including timing belt, exhaust, oil and filters.  Ready now for everyday use. 

 Underside 

Found to be surprisingly solid with only a few previous underbody repairs and a badly patched up rear cross member.  Its been steam cleaned underneath, rust treated with Neutrarust 661 and attacked with a pneumatic needle gun had all the necessary structural work carried out which included a couple of small repairs in the front, a new rear outrigger, new fuel tank, new UK made rear cross member, rear shock absorbers and new brake pipes!  The whole chassis and associated structure was then treated with Dinitrol ML3125 rust protection and topped off with Dinitrol 4941 underbody protection.  Structurally fit for many more years!

 Interior

 Cab area has been cleaned, a new drivers seat base fitted.  Everything works as it should, even the heater.  Newer modern radio fitted, original one also supplied with the car.  In the back it shows a low amount of abuse with a very straight and honest tub.

 

 Exterior

 We have left the outside pretty much as we found it, its been cleaned, touched up but shows most of its original patina.  Its never been sprayed and shows its original stickers down both sides.  Its also very straight as can be seen in the photos.  Some aluminium (white) corrosion about it but I think it looks best this way in its original clothes as they say.  Door bottoms are solid.

Its had new OEM rear mud flaps and grab handles fitted also a new tow ball and electrics just to freshen it up ready for work.

The wheels have been professionally refurbished to a very high standard and fitted with a new set of Bridgestone Dueler AT tyres!

What else can we say!  A lovely original looking Land Rover, rock solid with ultra-low milage.  It could return to farm work (reliably unlike the new ones), tow your horses to shows or meets, go to car shows and vintage rallies.  Or just be used every day as intended.
