On offer is a nice example of a vintage Irish Sacred Heart and Shamrock enamel badge. I'm not sure how old it is, but would think its probably 1940s to 1960s - but that is just guesswork on my part. I can't find a makers name on it. In the past brooches such as this were often worn by Irish Catholics as a declaration of their religious belief, and to show their pride in their Irish identity. Please take a good look at the pictures as they form part of the item description.

The pin measures about 2.5cm x 1cm (1" x ½"). It is nicely made, and is well detailed. It depicts white enamel heart, with a red heart and gold cross in its centre. On either side of the white heart are green enamelled shamrocks. On the back of the badge is the original pin, and this still works well.

There are light signs of wear commensurate with age and use, but nothing that detracts in any way. The enamel is good and bright, and is without any damage.

Despite any minor cosmetic faults this is a lovely vintage badge / pin. It displays beautifully, and will make a delightful addition to any collection.
