Offered is a vintage cast iron "Birdie Putt" mechanical bank featuring a golfer and caddie. This is a classic reproduction of an early 20th-century design and a great candidate for a simple restoration.
Condition & Mechanical Notes:
Functional Action: The internal mechanism is intact. When the button behind the caddie is pushed, the golfer's putter swings and the caddie's flag arm moves as intended.
Note on Action: The trigger action is currently a bit stiff from long-term storage but functions. A light drop of oil should smooth out the movement.
Missing Parts: The actual flag (originally held in the caddie's arm which is a bit loose, but moves freely) and the bottom coin stopper and one screw are missing.
Aesthetics: Good "primitive" look with authentic paint wear and surface patina typical of vintage cast iron.
Ideal For: This is a perfect starter piece for a collector or someone looking for a light restoration project to replace the flag and plug. It also displays wonderfully as a rustic golf-themed paperweight or bookshelf accent.
