Vintage Lenesta Womens Hat 1950's beige fashion beret cloch costume millinery perfect for photography props or movies and theatre
Ladies fabric draped crown cloche/top hat with a lot of handwork.
Colour: Mustard/golden ochre wool felt for the brim and base
Crown: Heavily ruched/gathered fabric in the same ochre tone, creating soft vertical pleats. Gives it that “turban” or “draped” look popular in the 1940s
Brim: Small, upturned all round, almost a mini top hat shape
Trim band: Wide metallic soft gold ribbon around the crown base, with visible black stitching
Bow: Large black velvet bow at the back right, with long tails.
Construction: Handmade millinery. The stitching on the silver band and the draping is typical of custom or small-run hats from that era
Era cues: Ruched crown + velvet bow + small upturned brim = late 1930s to early 1950s daywear or “occasion” hat
Milliners would call this a “draped crown top hat” or “ruched felt toque”. Not a standard cloche — cloche hugs the head. This one has height and structure.
May need a steam or reshape if someone knows how this should look best...this is a deceased estate treasure.
