1969 Dodge Charger (XP29G9B410xxx) 383c.i. (Factory 383 car), auto 727 transmission (numbers matching original trans), original fender tag, original B5 Bright Blue Metallic factory car with bucket seats and white/Black interior (C6W), factory power steering and power brakes (disc brake kit added), white trunk stripe, factory center buddy seat/arm rest, hood mounted turn signals, factory A/C car (currently removed),  8 ¾ rear end with 3.23 sure grip, 26” factory radiator, factory thumb wheel AM radio, 15” painted steel wheels with dog dish caps and dual exhaust with factory chrome tips and H-pipe. All the body numbers match on the radiator support, trunk lip, fender tag, and the VIN tag.

I just finished a light restoration (over 400 hours) on this absolutely awesome car.  I believe the Charger was original restored in the early 2000’s.  Just completed was painting inside the trunk, restored steel wheels with new tires, interior work, new factory correct wiring (engine, wiper motor, reverse lights and dash harness), complete brake job and  stainless steel brake line kit, complete stainless steel fuel line kit front to rear, full exhaust, restored Rallye dash cluster, painted 383 engine and freshened up all engine bay items (see list below), factory antenna kit, factory flip-up fuel cap, front-end alignment, suspension items, ignition and charging system, complete wet sanding and buffing clear coat paint and much more was done to this beautiful Charger!  This fine Charger provides an excellent all purpose type of car for shows, cruises and cruising!  Although not a 100 point concourse car… it will certainly garner respect and hold it’s own at any show.

I typically restore and finish around 8 or more Mopars a year and have been working on them for more than 35 years.  I do every one as if it were my own to keep. I put a lot of time, effort, pride and money in the cars I offer for sale which is evident when viewing one of my cars compared to others for sale.

PLEASE CALL ME AT     412-496-1439    AND I WILL BE GLAD TO DISCUSS THE DETAILS ON THE CHARGER, THANKS, CHAD.

PAINT, BODY AND FRAME

The body is very straight and clean and in very good shape. The trunk floor, driver’s side quarter and the foot area on the driver’s side had been replaced years ago by previous owners.  The trunk extensions and wheel well lips are nice and not full of fillers like most.   The frame is in excellent shape and the undercarriage is very clean and neat.  The B-5 blue basecoat/clear coat paint was done more than 20 years ago and still looks absolutely stunning!  The super high-gloss deep clear coat shine was just professionally wet sanded with 1500, 2000, 2500 and 3000 grit paper to achieve a high caliber ultra finish. This long process alone took over 60 hours and the finish shows it!  There are only a few small chips that were brush touched and look fine.  There is a small scratch/mark on the trunk lip back side above the trunk lock (shown in the photos).  The door jams are very nice and clean and you can see the factory seems all the way around the edges and behind the door weather stripping.  The engine bay was just refinished from top to bottom. The inside of the trunk was recently painted and added new trunk mat, jack and spare tire.

GLASS, CHROME AND TRIM

The front windshield appears to be newer and looks great.  The rest of the glass is in very good condition for factory A/C tinted glass!  There are only a few very small hard to see scratches on the sides and back glass. The front and rear bumpers have been replaced and are in excellent condition.  The door handles, flip-up gas cap and antenna are new.  The door lock cylinders and trunk lock work as should.  The trim pieces are very clean and were polished for optimum shine. The front grill is very nice but does have a ding in the very center “I” chrome trim piece.  The flip-up headlights work excellent opening and closing and I also replaced the vacuum canister and installed a new H.L. vacuum switch on the back of the headlight switch.  The taillights and tail panel trim appear original and look very nice.  The original wing vent window chrome is nice and only has some very minor pit marks in the chrome.  The factory hood mounted turn signals work perfect and I added the correct factory black-out decals.

INTERIOR

The white and black interior is in very nice shape and has been restored I’m guessing in the early 2000’s.  l just replaced the trunk divider, sill/scuff plates, speaker shelf, inside door handles, armrest pads and chrome bezels, lock knobs, restored complete Rallye dash cluster and bezel, new radio bezel, newer headliner, glove box liner, newer door panels door and restored ash tray with new working cigar lighter. The dash pad has a newer replacement cover on it.  The front and rear white seat covers look very good and have no rips or tears.  The Charger also has a factory 6-way driver seat.  All the factory gauges work and operate correctly. The factory water temp reads high so I added a mechanical temp gauge for accuracy.  I checked it several times with an infrared light and it reads 180 to 185 every time.  All lighting works as should including the high/low beams, dome light, tail lights, parking lights, turn signals, hood mount turn signals, four-way flashers, back-up lights and license plate light. The original factory A/C heater box looks in good condition and all intact.  The heater core seemed ok but was not pressure tested so currently the heater hoses are blocked off at the firewall to be safe and avoid any leaks.  The fan motor, wipers, horn, factory thumb wheel AM radio and E-brake all work.

DRIVE TRAIN

The strong running 383c.i. is a 1968 (casting date 8-4-67) motor with a stock rebuild and some minor upgrades at some time by the previous owners.  I don’t know a lot about the history of the build but we did a complete visual check on the top-end when we had the intake off.  It has a Edelbrock performer aluminum intake, 906 factory heads, electronic ignition, rebuilt distributor set at total timing 37 degrees, Edelbrock electric choke 750cfm carb, aluminum water pump housing and pump, intake gaskets, valley pan, factory HP exhaust manifolds.  It has a brand new complete exhaust system with new mufflers, hangars and factory chrome tips!  The 383 makes excellent power and runs great.  The 383 engine runs extremely smooth, sounds awesome and is very easy to drive in any given traffic condition. I only run the high Zinc racing oil Valvoline VR1 10w-30.

The original numbers matching automatic 727 was also rebuilt years ago and shifts excellent through the gears and is an absolute blast to drive!  The Charger has excellent drivability and cools well even in stop and go traffic.  This excellent drive train combo runs, drives and handles awesome in all conditions whether highway or city driving.  The 8 ¾ rear-end has a 3.23 Sure Grip 489 unit and the axles have newer green bearings and seals installed.

SUSPENSION

The front suspension has the newer very expensive upper and lower complete QA1 control arms, ball joints and strut rods.   It also has the larger upgraded Mopar torsion bars (.096) for added handling.  The rear leaf springs are the HD Mopar Performance springs P4452982 RH and P4452983 LH.  All the brakes, rear drums, front disc Master Power kit, rotors, calipers, brake hardware, power brake booster, master cylinder, stainless steel brake line kit, flex line hoses and rear wheel cylinders are all new or newer. Also has newer E-brake lines front to back.
