Frederick Albert Slocombe; fl 1886-1920. A London painter of landscapes, coastal scenes and genre, better known for his work as an etcher. His landscapes convey the characteristic charm and serene atmosphere of the English countryside. Exhibited Royal Academy, and was a member R.P.E.
A fine etching which is bright and unfaded, in dark sepia ink, with excellent rich intaglio ink lines, the image printed on a wove paper sheet measuring approximately 22 cm x 30 cm (8½ x 12 ins.)
Signed by the artist in the image.
Unframed and unmounted, the condition of the image and sheet is fair with foxing, overall age toning and handling marks condusive with age.
