Here is an iconic Meissen Blue Onion pattern dinner plate.  A lovely thing!  As I type this I am sipping from a blue onion pattern tea cup (made by someone else).  It's a cheerful pattern and I hope this plate will help to complete someone's collection.

I tried to research the timeframe for this plate and was unsuccessful. Maybe someone out there knows more than I do.  You can see what appears to be a single sword and the name 'Meissen' in capital lettrs under it.  Elsewhere, there is a symbol (probably a dating mechanism) which I couldn't match to resources.  The word 'MEISSEN' and the number 5 are impressed into the plate as well.

This plate is in what I cowould call 'good' vintage condition.  There are scratches from cutlery and plate stacking wear to the face.  There appears to be a crack in the glaze on the back near the Meissen imprint. Please examine the photos carefully. Thanks.

The plate measures 9 1/2" acoss.

Feel free to pass along questions. Thanks.
