Hi I am selling some of my odd items I have collected over the years. Here is a Vintage WW1 Bronze Death Penny in original Cardboard Case for Lieutenant Charles Edward Kilcourse Lambart , a soldier who served in the British Army during World War I (1914-1918). The Death Penny was a commemorative plaque given to the families of fallen soldiers. This particular item was manufactured in the United Kingdom and is a significant piece of militaria collectable from that era.
Charles Lambart served with the “B” Coy.,1st Canadian Mounted Rifles Battalion and died on 5th June 1916 aged 38. He was the son of late Maj. Frederick Lambart, husband of Isabela Dora Lambart. He is remembered with honour at Ypres (Menin Gate) Memorial
He was one of three brothers who served in the Great War. He also originally enlisted in Calgary in the 31st Battalion. . Is showing some signs of patina. A rare item due to being for a Lieutenant.
