Welcome! This listing is for (most of) a rare First Edition of “Suantraidhe agus Goltraidhe” (Songs of Sleep and Sorrow), a collection of poems by the Irish revolutionary and poet Pádraic Mac Piarais (Patrick Pearse). This was published by The Irish Review, Dublin (Baile Átha Cliath) in 1914, just two years before the 1916 Easter Rising. Pearse was a central figure in the Irish independence movement, drafting the Proclamation of the Irish Republic and serving as one of the leaders of the rebellion before his execution in May 1916. The full booklet was only 19 pages and contains some of Pearse’s most famous poems in Irish, including "Mise Éire" and "Fornocht do Chonnac Thú".

This historically unique booklet is in generally Poor Condition with missing and torn pages. The photographs show every page, so please check out the photos and message us with any questions.
