"A Romance of The Rostrum A Record of Stevens Rooms" by E.G. Allingham is a 1924 first edition hardback book published in the United Kingdom. A rare book giving fascinating details of early collectors and collections, ranging from shells, butterflies, shrunken heads, Benin bronzes, birds and their eggs, beetles, in fact just about anything. They were the main seller of Great Auk items in that period. A really fascinating history of Stevens auctions. The book cover has some marks commensurate with its age (100 years plus!) and a small bit of damage at the top of the spine, see photographs.
