Tape program, sensor. Rechargeable?

I could not get this item to play a cassette. Not sure what’s wrong with it, but when I press play it does nothing and the red light blinks…when I press fast forward or rewind you hear something go but the tape does no do either. Looked it up online, and according to YouTube, it COULD be a belt issue, but I’m unsure.
