Drive Shaft Installation Steps
1. Safely raise the vehicle and support it with jack stands. Remove the exhaust or heat shield if necessary.
2. Mark the original drive shaft and differential flange for proper alignment during reinstallation.
3. Remove the bolts connecting the drive shaft to the differential and transmission.
4. Carefully pull the drive shaft backward and lower it from the vehicle.
5. Clean the mating surfaces on the differential and transmission yoke.
6. Align the new drive shaft with the marks you made and insert it gently into the transmission.
7. Reinstall and tighten the mounting bolts to the manufacturer’s torque specification.
8. Check for proper clearance and ensure no binding or interference occurs.
9. Lower the vehicle and test-drive to confirm smooth operation.

- Do not reuse damaged universal joints, bearings, bolts or fasteners.
- Avoid hammering or rough handling to prevent damage to the drive shaft and components.
