********WHAT TO EXPECT WHEN SELECTING THE UNLACQUERED BRASS FINISH—UPON RECEIPT********
The finishing touch of every House of Rohl® product is its exquisite surface. Each finish conveys unique character and unparalleled quality through a distinctively soft, warm and genuine feel in comparison to other products made with synthetic coatings.
Unlacquered Brass is a natural polished brass with no protective coating. As
a result, the brass will change with time and with exposure to its environment. This change starts immediately. By its very nature, the Unlacquered Brass finish may not appear flawless upon initial receipt. It is important to note that the product is likely to show uneven coloring and/or blemishes straight out of the box. The type of brass used varies from component to component so there could be color variations within a given product. This is part of the charm of this finish and is to be expected.
Furthermore, solder used to assemble the parts is grey in color and can sometimes be seen in the joints. This is also to be expected due to the handcrafted nature of the product.
*********WHAT TO EXPECT WHEN SELECTING THE UNLACQUERED BRASS FINISH—OVER TIME*********
The Unlacquered Brass finish is considered a “living finish.” This means the character of the finish will develop and change over time, depending on how the homeowner uses and maintains the faucet, along with exposure to the environment. Therefore, no express warranty is offered on this living finish.
Unlacquered Brass is raw brass that is polished and left unlacquered for natural aging over time. It will take on a patina that will vary with exposure to sun, touch, oxygen and other airborne particles. Natural aging may produce uneven coloring; blemishes; and/or black, white or even green patina appearance—all of which are natural characteristics of unlacquered brass.
This finish should be selected for its raw and everchanging beauty—that of aging.
The Edwardian era of the early 1900s was the start of the modern age, when design looked both forward and back. It combined a spirit of optimism with classical style and Neo-Baroque detail. The Edwardian Kitchen Collection follows this look with a tall faucet column and a distinctive curved, question-mark neck. Rounded shapes and ring detailing on the base, neck, and spout add dimension and personality. In the Edwardian age people loved to show off their homes, and this Collection most definitely makes a style statement meant to be shown off.
