Vintage Gianfranco Ferré Clip-On Sunglasses – Made in Italy
This pair of vintage Gianfranco Ferré clip-on sunglasses was produced in Italy and designed to attach to compatible prescription frames, a format widely used in the 1990s for adaptable eyewear systems.
The lenses feature the Gianfranco Ferré signature logo and the frame is marked GFF 261 N09 along the inner arm with size marking 52□18 and Made in Italy with CE marking.
Gianfranco Ferré eyewear from this period was manufactured in Italy by Safilo Group, one of the world’s largest optical manufacturers known for producing eyewear for many luxury fashion houses.
The frame is finished in a gold tone metal construction with a distinctive wrapped brow bar design and olive green lenses typical of late-1990s minimalist Italian optical styling.
This example appears to be New Old Stock and comes with its original Safilo packaging as shown in the photographs.
Vintage clip-on sunglasses like these were designed to attach to optical frames, allowing prescription wearers to convert their glasses into sunglasses without needing separate lenses.
