The rock is fine‑grained and gritty in appearance with an overall red to reddish‑brown color and yellowish iron‑staining. Wet photos show the typical intensified red of iron‑oxide cement. The surface is irregular and earthy rather than glassy, and I can see a sandlike texture (small, indistinct grains and a generally clastic look) consistent with a sedimentary sandstone cemented by iron oxides (hematite/limonite).
