This listing is for a beautifully hand-carved Chinese white jade openwork plaque in a heart-shaped floral design. The carving features detailed flowers, vines, and pierced openwork throughout, with hand-finished surfaces visible on both the front and back. The piece has a soft, natural translucence and creamy white coloration consistent with nephrite or jadeite jade.
Provenance / Family History:
This piece comes from my family estate. It was handed down to me after my father passed away and originally belonged to my great-grandfather. According to family history, several items in this collection were said to originate from China and possibly date to the Ming dynasty period. Unfortunately, all original documentation was lost in a house fire in the 1940s. Because of this, I cannot provide formal authentication or dating, and the piece is being sold strictly as antique or vintage Chinese jade of unknown exact age. See my other listings that are ending at the same time to save on shipping.
