Genuine Burberry Men’s 100% Wool Double Breasted Lined Overcoat, Circa 1960’s.

This is an incredibly well constructed and seldom seen piece. Some damage to the fabric on the front of the coat and some marking to the left sleeve as shown, though otherwise in very nice condition for the age of the coat. All buttons appear to be original and are a matching set.

The coat has a slight ‘old wool’ odour, as expected with it being the age it is. It is not dirty in any way though may benefit from a refresh in the form of either a fabric spray, or professional dry clean.

In terms of fit, this coat is tagged a 50R but in my view fits a 48R (I wear this size and feel it would be tight on a 50 chest). The sleeves on this are ever so slightly shorter than modern models, perhaps 1” or so, though this is typical of the era and an intentional choice to allow for some cuff of whatever is being worn to show underneath.
