Burberry Women’s 1960s Made in England Wool/Camel fabric trench coat, made expressly for high end Swiss clothing store Ausoni (or La Griffe Ausoni) who are still in business today.
This is a truly historical/archive piece. So few of these would have been originally made (likely double digits) and it is likely even fewer are in circulation today.
Overall fair condition for a 60+ years old wool coat. Frustratingly it is missing its original belt, however is a coat that looks gorgeous with/without. There is some small damage to the surround of the front left pocket, and unfortunately both pocket linings have ripped through use, though lots of the fabric still remains and would likely be repairable by a good seamstress, even if compromising on some pocket depth (see last pictures for this). Lastly there is a small mark to the right (from picture perspective) of the second button down. You can see this clearly in pics 7 and 8.
Being a vintage coat this has slightly shorter sleeves than the modern models. This was the style of the day and they are maybe 1-1.5” shorter than modern, and should sit just off the wrist. They have not been altered and are intentionally this way to show off some cuff and make wearing more comfortable, so the thick fabric is not in the way of your hands.
Please take a look at all pictures and check the measurements taken for this item (below) BEFORE purchasing to ensure you are happy with both the condition and fit of the item.
