Originally commissioned as a custom-made high-end kimono valued at approximately 500,000 JPY (about 3,300 USD) and created by a renowned kimono artisan, this elegant textile has been beautifully upcycled into a modern, wearable piece of art.

This elegant maxi-length gathered skirt showcases a luxurious panoramic scene across the hem: in the foreground, rolling hills and an imperial garden unfold with richly patterned panels, while distant mountains rise softly beyond—rendered in a distinctive traditional perspective passed down since the Edo period, creating depth and story in a uniquely Japanese way. Pine, bamboo, and plum appear alongside cranes, peonies, and chrysanthemums, with exquisite details of classic accessories and auspicious ornaments scattered throughout, all highlighted by refined gold accents against deep black silk.
