The platform update also affects the sound. The JBL CLIP 5 features a 10% larger passive radiator. The amplifier has also been optimized, delivering a powerful JBL sound that's even better than the previous model, while still maintaining a compact, palm-sized enclosure.

Longer playback time with "Playtime Boost"*1

The larger battery capacity increases continuous playback time.In addition, the "Playtime Boost" function adjusts the energy balance for each frequency band to extend playback time by up to three hours.

The product design has been completely revised and updated to a new generation platform, incorporating a wealth of new functions that can be used in a variety of situations, locations, and applications.

This is the first CLIP series product to support JBL's proprietary app, "JBL Portable." This allows for centralized management of multiple devices, as well as various customization features, such as adjusting the sound equalizer, renaming devices, turning the startup sound on/off, and updating device firmware.

Furthermore, support for LE Audio enables wireless stereo playback by connecting two speakers wirelessly, creating an even wider soundstage. It also supports wireless features such as Auracast, which allows audio to be streamed to multiple JBL-compatible devices and played simultaneously.

With waterproof and dustproof performance compliant with IP67*2, the headphones can be used in tough outdoor environments such as sandboxes and beaches without any problems even if they are submerged in water. The JBL CLIP 5 further refines the carabiner structure that gave the model its name. Based on user feedback, the gate opening has been expanded from 16mm to 23mm, making it possible to hang it on poles with a diameter equivalent to a 100-yen bullet.

The casing is made of recycled plastic and fabric, and the packaging is made of FSC paper and printed with biodegradable soy ink, which has a low environmental impact, in order to create a sustainable product.
