Late Qing Dynasty Chinese painting in ink and colors on silk depicting red grouse by blooming flowers. The image must have copied from a European or American print that ended up in China at the end of the 19th century. Excellent quality painting with precise realistic depiction of the bird and plant. Bright colors, in superb condition, stamped with two artist’s red paste seals. Silk brocade mounts, the top of the back is attached to a very thick paper board protecting the painting from creasing. Image size 12.25 x 9.12 inches, overall 16 x 12 inches.
