SOUTHERN ILLINOIS
This beautiful HOPEWELL came from Southern Illinois and shows
nice use with great patination. It is made from a fantastic local chert that I believe to be Carter Cave. Carter Cave is one of the more collectible southern materials. It is quite thin and has a nice form overall. Hopewell points are Woodland in age, ranging from 1,700 to 2,100 years old. This is a fantastic choice for a color frame or a Woodland frame of North Central materials.
