Here is a very nice example of a Scarce RME Speaker For The RME 70 Receiver. Radio Manufacturing Engineers, Inc. of Peoria, IL most likely began production of this item circa 1936 when they introduced the RME 70 receiver. The RME 70 receiver was short-lived and this companion speaker is almost impossible to find in any condition...
This speaker is working, utilizing the formidable ROLA Permanent Magnet Dynamic Speaker Model PM8! The cabinet is in remarkable condition with with very modest wear. There is a small scuff to the paint right side of center on the horizontal member spanning the grill. The grill is undamaged and free from corrosion (the brown color in the photographs is from the cardboard insert "fuzz"). The cardboard sound damper is a replacement. Finally, the plug for plug-in to the receiver will need a little TLC, but it is there!
So hard to find in any condition, this vintage RME Speaker is a must have for your RME collection shelves!!
The cabinet is about 16" wide, 5.75" deep and stands 9.5" tall.
Shipping weight will be about 20 pounds.
