Upgraded Turbo Resonator O-Rings (Pack of 2) + Safe Installation Lube. THESE are BETTER THAN OEM O-RINGS. Simply because they are a tiny bit fatter than OEM meaning it matters less over time if they shrink a tiny bit whereas with OEM ones if they have any shrinkage or heat damage then they are more likely to leak. No margin for error.
Fits: 2004 - 2006 Dodge / Freightliner Sprinter (T1N) with the 2.7L 5-Cyl Diesel Engine.
A common cause of sudden boost loss and "Limp Mode" in T1N Sprinters is a simple air leak at the turbo resonator O-ring and or the plastic turbo resonator housing. Before you let a shop quote you thousands for a new turbo, try replacing this O-ring (I highly recommend pairing this with a machined aluminum resonator as well as a future proof upgrade to the plastic ones!). Whatever you do don't buy the dorman plastic one.
This listing includes TWO (2) heavy-duty O-rings so you have a guaranteed spare on hand in case of an installation mishap, plus a packet of water-soluble lubricant to ensure a smooth, damage-free install.
Why These Are Better Than OEM
Heavy-Duty Specs: OEM O-rings are bought in massive bulk and are often built to a price point.
Mine are sourced from a specialty industrial distributor. They are highly resistant to the degrading mix of heat, oil, and diesel fumes that age engines experience. They are slightly larger than stock OEM ones making for a tighter fit.
Color May Vary: Because I prioritize exact technical specifications over aesthetics, the O-ring color may be brown, black, or another color depending on the batch. Rest assured, they are all the exact same premium spec.
Includes Safe Lube Packet: This listing includes a human-safe, water-soluble lubricant packet. Unlike non-synthetic grease or standard petroleum products (which cause O-rings to swell and fail over time), this will not damage the rubber and washes right off your hands with water.
Installation Tips To Reduce Stress (these are my opinion / there are lots of ways to do it / lots of opinions on the internet, this is by no means the only way or the only correct way):
Upgrade Your Bolts:
Consider swapping the factory resonator bolts out for standard hex-head bolts (10mm, 11mm, or 12mm) of the exact same thread and length. If you ever have to do a roadside repair, a standard wrench is much easier to find than the factory Torx/Allen tools that love to strip.
Don't Force It: Only hand-tighten both bolts at first to ensure the O-ring is seated perfectly. Do not crank one down and fight the other! Start one just a few threads then start the other one. Switching back and forth till it is seated correctly.
I Highly Suggest Purchasing My Aftermarket Resonator:
If you are pairing this with an aftermarket aluminum resonator, you may occasionally need to slightly enlarge the mounting holes with a drill if your engine brackets have settled over time. This is caused 98% of the time by a BENT ALTERNATOR bracket that leads to a slight misalignment. You can check that bracket, swap it out, bend it back, or modify the resonator and use maybe a sleeve on the bolt to hold it tight. I have yet to hear of a resonator having a misaligned weld angle, it is typically user installation error / fighting a bent alternator bracket. Not saying it can't happen but check those things first.
Lube is Your Friend: If you don't use the included packet, use Synthetic ATF, Synthetic Motor Oil, or Silicone Grease. Avoid heavy petroleum lubricants like Fluid Film for the install.
Vibration & Torque: These vans vibrate heavily. Use a tiny dab of Blue Loctite on the mounting bolts, but do not over-torque them.

Tariffs & Petroleum Prices mean the price of the high quality O-rings keep going up so snag them before I have to raise my prices again.

Condition is Brand New. Shipped quickly so you can get back on the road! Overnight shipping available (but highly discouraged as the prices are insane-- better just buy the dorman part at the auto parts store and order one of these to your next destination and swap it out then).
Also any questions about diagnostics, what happened in my friends van that lead me down this jouney to diving deep into o-rings and resonators (a $5500 dealership quote to fix his van is what got me started). I love talking shop and cars. I don't know everything sprinter more of a general mechanic with 20+ years experience of tinkering. I think after diagnostics, oil change, new resonator, a few brake related things on my buddies sprinter he was out the door for $1000 or less from me). Saved 4500$ and the dealership told him it would be two months.
A good sprinter shop is worth its weight in gold. If you got one near you don't take your van anywhere else, unless they explicitly say they know these vans. Too much of a cult following of these to not use that to your advantage as a customer, they may charge more per hour but buy once cry once.
