Gratton only played one year with the Sun Devils, in 2023-2024, when he served as team captain. The Tillman tribute helmets were worn by ASU twice in November 2021 home games against Bemidji State. The Sun Devils wore them a few more times in 2022 and 2023 before the school retired them. Gratton's #59 helmet is a HT Tacks 710 in a size medium. It has PT*42 decals on the right side and front with the team logo on the left. Tillman left the NFL's Arizona Cardinals in 2001 to serve with the Army Rangers and died in a friendly fire incident in Afghanistan in 2004.
