Original early 20th century Art Nouveau / Jugendstil porcelain tray with reticulated metal rim, designed by Christiaan Johannes van der Hoef (1875–1933).

This elegant oval tray features an ivory porcelain ground with restrained abstracted decoration in gray, blue, and green — a refined palette characteristic of Continental Jugendstil design. The porcelain is set within a pierced metal gallery rim, originally fitted with handles (now absent).

The underside is unmarked, which is consistent with period decorative porcelain produced for the European market and designed by artists whose work was executed by affiliated manufactories.

A strong decorative example of early modern design, suitable for display, use as a serving or drinks tray, or inclusion in an Art Nouveau / Arts & Crafts collection.

As-found condition. Light surface scratching to porcelain consistent with age and use. One area shows faintness/loss to the green portion of the design.
