Hi, These are the #8702 Southern Crescent Engine/Tender and SIX matching Passenger Cars that Lionel made in the later 1970s. Included are the #8702 Diecast Southern 4-6-4 Steam Engine and Tender with Sounds of Steam and 9530/9531/9532/9533/9534 Passenger Cars and the 19001 DINER CAR. Our Opinion is that they are generally in EX+-Like New Condition. Original Boxes. All Original in our Opinion. 

Boxes are good and with normal wear and small tears with decent cello and stains as seen on engine box especially.

All cars light up!

This engine had consistent smoke.  You can see it when I stop train and on track.

I saw a few small rub marks on roof paint from boxes and the diner has some surface patina on one set of trucks. Please see pics and evaluate the set. 

Engine looks test run only. Most of cars have light run time. 

Units were TESTED with conventional transformer and performed great forward, reverse, lights, Chug sounds and smoke. Great set! This model did not have a whistle.
