Unlike many mass-produced school bags, this randoseru was made by Murase Bag Workshop, a traditional Japanese maker known for its hand-stitched construction.

Because of this labor-intensive process and attention to detail, randoseru of this type typically retailed for around ¥80,000 in Japan when new(approximately $500–$550 at the time), reflecting the quality of materials and true hand craftsmanship.

In Japan, randoseru are typically used daily for up to six years during elementary school. Even with rough everyday use by growing children, a well-made randoseru is designed to hold its shape and stay beautiful , this bag is a great example of that quality.
