This Bakelite capsule was found in a place where troops of the Red Army's Southwestern Front
were encircled in September 1941.
The Red Army used such capsules during the early stages of the war.

They were supposed to contain a piece of paper with the soldier's personal information.
Unfortunately, there was no paper inside.
There are also wax residues where the twist is made.
