This Bakelite capsule was found in a place where troops of the Red Army's Southwestern Front 
were encircled in September 1941.
The Red Army used such capsules during the early stages of the war. 
ID Capsule ( ЛОЗ /личный опознавательный знак/personal identification mark) of the Red Army, model 1941. Introduced by order of the People's Commissariat of Defense of March 15, 1941, number 138.
They were supposed to contain a piece of paper with the soldier's personal information.
Unfortunately, there was no paper inside.
There are also wax residues where the twist is made.
