Handmade Patchwork Throw — Vintage Japanese Silk Kimono | Magnolia Mojo Studio

A one-of-a-kind textile made in the Magnolia Mojo studio using authentic vintage silk kimono fabric from Japan. The front is arranged in a checkerboard of red, white, and blush squares — many reclaimed from new old stock kimono pieces with traditional motifs, including cranes, butterflies, seasonal florals, and subtle jacquard patterns. Each square is individually cut, placed, and sewn to create a vibrant patchwork surface.

The construction is hand-tied at intervals (no batting), which gives it a quilt-like drape while keeping it lightweight and flexible. The blanket is bordered by a deep red kimono silk band and finished with a soft pink binding. The back is plush, new polyester blanket fabric, making the throw cozy, washable, and ideal for everyday use.

Perfect for a reading chair, sofa corner, afternoon nap, or winter movie night. A functional art piece with vintage history, reclaimed textiles, and a splash of Japanese elegance.
