Classic Treasures from the Disney History Vault... from the Worldwide Disneyana Specialists of Saturday's Toys...
Item: Disneyland Summer 1959 Newspaper Advertising Supplement Pictorial
Date: Sunday, June 14, 1959
Description: This beautifully designed newspaper supplement was distributed through the Los Angeles Times. The issue includes brightly colored images of the classic attractions of Disneyland during its first decade.
In particular, the supplement features the magnificent new attractions that would once again capture the interest and imagination of the entire nation... leading to its own nationally broadcast television special ("Kodak Presents Disneyland '59") on Walt Disney's "Disneyland" anthology series the following day (Monday, June 15, 1959) on ABC Television (as noted on the back cover of this news supplement):
Back cover notes every attraction at Disneyland; and the prices for the "Big 10" and "Jumbo 15" ticket books... with prices ranging from $.50 (child general admission) to $4.50 (for adult Jumbo 15 attraction tickets + admission). Fascinating what seven decades of inflation can do!
Features new concept art overview of Tomorrowland '59... and captivating photographs of each attraction within Disneyland.
Measurement: 11" x 12"
Pages: 24
Condition: Good condition, as shown and described within listing. Demonstrates signs of prior page wrinkling and/or folds, though not really noticeable except upon close inspection. Also some minor tears at edges; typically .25" to .5". Care is recommended when handling; along with possible consultation with a preservationist and/or conservator for recommendations on long-term stabilization of any existing margin tears. That said... this piece still displays spectacularly! (as shown)
Saturday’s Toys and Collectibles was founded in 1994 by Southern California author and media historian, Dave Mason. Soon after eBay's launch the following year, Saturday's Toys was among the first online specialists to strategize in embracing this rapidly developing technology. Having delivered over 16,000 coveted treasures since that time, Saturday's Toys is pleased to partner with researchers and collectors throughout the globe.
Today, online offerings of archival keepsakes are presented in celebration of the times that allow for family, friends and neighbors to join in memorable gatherings that nurture the strong connections that bind a community together. These treasures are affectionately represented by "Saturday's Toys." In that light we present our adopted motto (with a nod to the Sherman Brothers): "Oh, let's go fly a kite!"
We are glad to combine shipping for multiple purchases in order to reduce costs whenever possible. Simply let us know before processing payment for the items selected and we'll be glad to revise and forward a final invoice to reflect the combined shipping price.
This usually works most effectively when combining flat paper items (postcards, newsletters, ephemera, etc.) but we'll do our best to make any combined purchase provide your best value for shipping.
Customer dissatisfaction with buyer fees for the eBay International Shipping program has led us to cease all international shipments for the foreseeable future. eBay has opted to support international buyers who leave false feedback about sellers charging excessive fees for the eBay International Shipping program (formerly known as the eBay Global Shipping program). eBay is well aware that sellers have nothing to do with setting prices for their international shipping program and that the prices are 100% controlled only by eBay. In that light, we have opted out of the program and can no long participate.
We are now accepting select consignments of interest to our network of domestic and international collectors. We offer a sliding scale of consignment proceeds that are based on the sale price of each item, with each sale earning consignors 50% to 70% of the net sales price. We handle all of the details of each transaction (listing descriptions, photos, sales tracking, shipping, insurance, etc.). Please contact us through the eBay Messaging system for more information.
