An interior view of the Cathedral of St. John the Divine showing the assembled members of the Episcopal clergy of New York during the solemn funeral services for the late Rev. Herbert Shipman, Suffragan Bishop of the Episcopal Diocese of New York.  Bishop William T. Manning who officiated at the ceremony is shown at the left foreground.  The body was taken to West Point for burial as the bishop for formerly chaplain at the Military Academy.


Herbert Shipman was an American suffragan bishop in the Episcopal Diocese of New York under William Thomas Manning. His older sister was author Mary Raymond Shipman Andrews.
