This product is a Chinese soapstone carving or sculpture likely depicting Li Tieguai. The figurine is hand carved from green soapstone and stands at 6 3/4 inches tall including the base, reflecting the theme of immortals. Made in China between 1900-1940, this antique original piece is a unique addition to any collection of Asian antiques. The quality of the carving is quite good with detailed facial features and beard. The statue is in very fine condition with a few issues.  The gourd shaped object on the figures shoulder has a small chip.  The other shoulder is probably missing a piece above it. The staff has a small break in it.  The base has a repair although it is intact.  There is glue residue around the repair as shown in the last photograph.
