1975 Press Photo Dr. Larry H. Hollier, vascular surgeon at Louisiana State

This is an original press photo. As the second part of the diagnostic procedure to determine if patient may be in danger of a stroke, the patient rests her chin on a chin-rest, plastic contact lenses are placed over her eyeballs, and light cells, resembling small earring, are clipped on her earlobes. These transmit pulsation that is usually in keeping with the volume of blood getting through the carotid arteries. Dr. Larry H. Hollier, vascular surgeon at Louisiana State University Medical Center, demonstrates with the aid of his secretary, Miss Anita Prather. Now they've come up with a technique, which make makes it possible to determine with complete safety, whether of not a patient is in danger of having a stroke, because of a clogged-up artery. Photo measures 10 x 8.25inches. Photo is dated 08-10-1975.
