Snowline Chainsen Trail Spikes are an ultralight version of the tried and true Chainsen design. They give you extra traction on moderate icy trails with snow patches combined with muddy conditions. They provide secure footing for both planned and unforeseen conditions without carrying a lot of extra weight – just 7.0 oz (198 g) per pair – 19% lighter than Chainsen Light and 41% lighter than MICROspikes®.

13 spikes per foot, 8 in the forefoot and 5 in the heel, provide great traction on icy trails. The 0.3 in. (7.5 mm) long spikes are made of hardened 400 series stainless steel for high durability and corrosion resistance. The independent spike groups, connected by chain, keep snow from collecting under your foot. And the chain design allows the spikes to flex with your shoes as well as fit varying shoe designs. The chains are hardened stainless steel and welded for high strength.

Chainsen Trail features a full secure harness but the spikes are shorter than the Chainsen Light, so if you’ll be crossing a lot of snow fields, Chainsen Light might be a better choice. It’s a tradeoff between spike length and weight.
