HIGHLY DETAILED OO9 SCALE MODEL KIT
Orenstein and Koppel 0-4-0 Locomotives
This is a detailed scale model kit for adult collectors. Not for children under 14 years old.
Baby Sivok is an 0-4-0WT built by Orenstein and Koppel, and originally purchased to aid the building of two branchlines on the world famous Darjeeling Himalayan Rialway. The bunker shape and saddle tank are believed to have been added at a much later date to replicate the proportions of the much large Sharp-Stewart B-Class machines. Other distinctive features incorporated into this model include the turbo generator, headlamps, fully open-sided cab and hydrostatic displacement lubricator.
You will need modelling tools (such as a craft knife and cutting board) adhesive and paints to assemble the kit. The model comes with a Static Chassis that can be used for display, alternatively it can be motorised with a Bachmann N-Scale Percy chassis (not included). The valve chests can also be removed in order for the kit to fit a Percy chassis with our valve gear upgrade kit fitted (not included).
This is a highly detailed 4mm scale kit built using our in house machines, with High Definition resin and build layers just 50 microns (0.05mm) thick. Whilst there is 'stepping' visible on the parts up close, this is not discernible once the kit is painted and/or from usual viewing distances. The parts have their main supports removed, though detailing and structural supports will remain to protect the parts in transit, and require removing prior to assembly. Some polishing and filing of the parts is required to provide a smooth finish. Clear (and varnished) resin windows are included, though you may wish to use clear plastic sheet (not included) if preferred.
This is a beginner's kit, and comprises a single large body shell, with separate cab piece. The Bachmann Trains Percy chassis requires no modification to fit, and just needs the 'Percy' body removing.
