Disneyland 1973 Creative Idea Cast Member Award Ludwig Von Drake Walt Disney

Disneyland 1973 Creative Idea Cast Member Award Ludwig Von Drake Walt Disney

Historic Disneyland Treasures from the Worldwide Disneyana Specialists at Saturday's Toys...  presenting an original three-page collection of unique documents detailing the Disneyland "Creative Programs" program for 1973.

Here, a winner from the Disneyland Security Department had proposed including an "accident" package in each company car... in the event that drivers might have an accident while away from Disneyland.

Includes three documents:

  • Original application; thermal copy; not dated; submitted to the Creative Idea Committee
  • Response from "Creative Idea Committee" acknowledging the application; dated October 5, 1973; as approved by Ron Dominguez (then serving as Disneyland Director of Operations... and later as VP of Disneyland)... along with Tom Solomon, Operation Division Creative Idea Chairman (signing as "Tom").  Of note, the signature of Dominguez was provided by an administrative assistant, as noted.
  • Final award notice; dated October 8, 1973, designating the original Disneyland cast member who has submitted the idea; signed by Jo Benedick, Park Coordinator of the Creative Ideas Program.

The latter two pages features the logo with Ludwig Von Drake (host of several programs on "Walt Disney's Wonderful World of Color)... among the most fascinating personalities in the pantheon of Disney animated characters!

Also of particular note, the award winner was the happy recipient of either a $30 gift certificate from Disneyland... or dinner for the honoree's family at Club 33... or a $50 check.  Amazingly... the recipient accepted the $50 check and passed on the meal at Club 33!

Saturday’s Toys and Collectibles was founded in 1994 by Southern California author and media historian, Dave Mason. Soon after eBay's launch the following year, Saturday's Toys was among the first online specialists to strategize in embracing this rapidly developing technology. Having delivered over 16,000 coveted treasures since that time, Saturday's Toys is pleased to partner with researchers and collectors throughout the globe.

Today, online offerings of archival keepsakes are presented in celebration of the times that allow for family, friends and neighbors to join in memorable gatherings that nurture the strong connections that bind a community together. These treasures are affectionately represented by "Saturday's Toys." In that light we present our adopted motto (with a nod to the Sherman Brothers): "Oh, let's go fly a kite!"

We are glad to combine shipping for multiple purchases in order to reduce costs whenever possible.  Simply let us know before processing payment for the items selected and we'll be glad to revise and forward a final invoice to reflect the combined shipping price.

This usually works most effectively when combining flat paper items (postcards, newsletters, ephemera, etc.) but we'll do our best to make any combined purchase provide your best value for shipping.

We are now accepting select consignments of interest to our network of domestic and international collectors.  We offer a sliding scale of consignment proceeds that are based on the sale price of each item, with each sale earning consignors 50% to 70% of the net sales price. We handle all of the details of each transaction (listing descriptions, photos, sales tracking, shipping, insurance, etc.). Please contact us through the eBay Messaging system for more information.
