Description

This classic flame mahogany marble top pier table is in the Empire Revival style and dates from the 1860s. An attractive and diminutive table, it combines elegant design with rich materials, making it a refined accent for a hall, entryway, or parlor.
The table features a Carrera white marble top with molded edge and serpentine sides and front. The apron is decorated with a floral cartouche framed by carved leaf tips. The top is supported by a wishbone (harp-shaped) base centered with a framed mirror plate. The base is further decorated with scrolling leaf tip carvings, adding movement and depth to the design. It sits on a rectangular plinth veneered in flame mahogany that rests on scrolling feet.
Dimensions:
Width: 33 inches
Depth: 17 inches
Height: 34.5 inches
The table is in good overall condition, and has been repolished and cleaned, which highlights the beauty of the flame mahogany veneer. There are some minor veneer chips to the base. The Carrera marble top was cracked and repaired, but remains stable and displays well. Please review the photos for details.
This is a fine example of mid-19th-century Empire Revival design—decorative, functional, and perfectly sized for smaller spaces while still making a strong visual impression.
