This lid is of a Laphroaig Scotch whisky barrel.   The lid was taken directly off of a the barrel after the whiskey was dumped.  There is still the outside metal ring attached with the ends of the staves. It is reenforced with a backer board and has a mounting bracket already installed so that it can hang on your wall.  It has not been sanded completely smooth since being removed from the barrel so it still has that rustic look and the char on the bottom.  Each lid is unique and how much they need to be sanded will vary but all look basically the same.  The coloration/markings on the lid will be slightly different from one another.  They are from a full size 53 gallon barrel measuring about 21” across and is about 3" thick.  It weighs about 20 lbs so it is fairly heavy.
