Here's a very scarce early Civil War era Nicholson's cylinder bourbon whiskey bottle from David Nicholson of St.Louis.....NICHOLSON'S ST.LOUIS very boldly emb on front shoulder, with backwards N's....Hand blown in 3 pc mold, bimal...early smooth base with concentric rings & dot in center.....crude applied collar...aqua....round...11 1/2"tall....Sparkling near mint condition with no chips or damage of any kind. A shiny clean bottle with no haze. I had dug this bottle from an 1860s downtown St.Louis outhouse privy pit and lightly tumbled the bottle...but it looks like an attic bottle! David Nicholson began making his famous bourbon whiskey in 1843 in St.Louis. This bottle dates from the 1858-1863 period and is very hard to find. There are only a few of these known!. If this bottle dont sell, then I will be happy to put it right back in my personal collection... THIS IS A FIXED PRICE BOTTLE FOR SALE IN MY STORE.
