Antique French Wrought Iron Painted Bed (Campaign Daybed).
**note there are two beds in the first picture; this listing is for the bed on the right side of the picture**
This is a wrought iron, French Campaign daybed, dating from around 1900. The bed folds flat for transport.
I bought this around 12 years ago and restored it for my daughters bedroom, broken struts were repaired and the bed was shot blasted and then painted with red oxide (anti rust paint) and finished with a white eggshell. This is antique so does show some signs of age, the metal is slightly pitted from where it had aged before restoration, there are a few marks at some of the joints etc and so they may benefit from touching up the paintwork.
The bed is a non standard single bed (normal width but slightly shorter than normal length), it takes a 3’ x 5’9” mattress. You are welcome to take the mattress, it has always been used with a waterproof mattress protector. Alternatively you can buy non standard mattresses from Mattressman.
Dimensions of the bed: width 100cm, top of headboard/footboard 114cm, length 192cm (please note it is longer than this when folded flat because the feet stick out, it will be approximately 250cm).
Bedding not included but the bolster cushions handmade to convert one of the beds in to a sofa could be available by separate negotiation.
I really love this bed and will be sad to see it go but sadly teenage daughter is redecorating her own room and now wants a double bed!
