The original tiara was made for Lady Poltimore in 1870. Lady Poltimore wore it to the coronation of King George V in 1911. The family put up for auction in 1959 where it was purchased by Princess Margaret for 5500 pounds.Margaret wore the tiara to her own wedding on May 6 1960. Following her death in 2002, it was sold at auction for 940,400 pounds equivalent to 1.1 million dollars to a private buyer. Its wearabouts are unknown.
