DESCRIPTION:
Offered here is a rare Antique Victorian era doll trunk or toy chest, dating from the late 1800s to early 1900s. This charming paper lithograph-covered trunk features printed woodgrain and decorative motifs resembling full-size steamer trunks of the 19th century. The miniature chest has a domed top, metal corner reinforcements, and paper hinges. It includes its original divided interior tray and is lined with patterned paper.
Trunks like this were often used to house doll clothing, accessories, or miniature belongings. The combination of lithographed wood grain patterns, printed hinges, and locks suggests it was manufactured in Germany or America circa 1880–1910, likely as a high-quality toy or decorative keepsake box.
