Stockings filled with fruits, candies and other appetizing delicacies are being made by volunteer Red Cross workers for distribution among our wounded soldiers in hospitals throughout the city. Women of prominence and social standing are devoting their time, without any financial compensation to help make these comforts for our heroes. This photo shows a scene in the Red Cross Headquarters at Madison Ave. and 38th Street.
