This is a beautiful original example of the Rolex Oyster Auto-Suspention "SPEED" wristwatch made in 1938.
This model of Rolex not only had the "bubble back" top 3 piece case, but this movement was desigened to rest in the case with its auto-suspention movement claws. You can see these in the last 2 pictures. This model is so rare. I have purchsed over the years many rare models like the Kew A Cert Rolex of the 1940s but this for me is rarer as I have had only 2 in my 35 years.

The super high grade 17 rubies Ultra prima movement has been fully serviced by our watchmaker.
To complete this fantastic piece, we've put it on a new high quality strap.
The stainless-steel "bubble back top" 3 piece case and bezel are good condition for its age, with light age related wear. The case measures 31mm across without the Rolex oyster screw-down crown and 38mm long including the lugs.
It still retains its original Oyster Patent winding crown.
Inside the case back all the marks are correct as expected and on the outer case back it still retains the serial number and model number.
The stunning and rare original dial is untouched and has a nice patina to it.
The very high grade Ultra prima manual wind movement is in very good condition.
The movement has been fully serviced by our watchmaker.
To finish this beautiful watch off, it comes on a new, very high quality strap.
Like most vintage wristwatches what are over 60 years old, the original certificate and box has been lost or discarded over the years. But even though this watch does not have its original box or certificate, this watch, the reference numbers, markings, signatures and hallmarks are all correct, dating the watch to circa 1938.
