Collector's Notes:  This find is comprised of many small fragments found throughout the strewn field.  It is a Noritic Diogenite with about 20% plagioclase.  During hand examination on a polished face you can see multiple angular clasts giving it a nice visual play under light.

Class information:  With a very high level of confidence we can say that the H.E.D. clan of meteorites originate from the second largest asteroid, 4-Vesta.  Diogenites represent the deeper crustal layers. Their coarse grained igneous composition is generally comprised of orthopyroxene but other lithologies such as dunitic and noritic have been observed. The deep and therefore well insulated magma chambers provided the slow cooling needed for the large crystal development.  These meteorites record the internal magmatic processes of a differentiated asteroid, offering a window into Vesta's lower crust and the igneous activity that shaped small planetary bodies in the early Solar System.
