Hi, These are the #8702 Southern Crescent Engine/Tender and FIVE matching Passenger Cars that Lionel made in the later 1970s. Included are the
#8702 Diecast Southern 4-6-4 Steam Engine and Tender with Sounds of Steam and 9530/9531/9532/9533/9534 Passenger Cars. Our Opinion is that
they are generally in EX+-Like New Condition. Original Boxes. All Original in our
Opinion.
Engine and tender box does not have all of its flaps and is taped. Rest of boxes are good and with normal wear and small tears with good cello.
9533 does not light up. I have discounted this listing by not including this car in price so you can find another if you wish it to illuminate or fix yourself. Needs a new truck to do that.
See pics of all other cars lit up on layout.
This engine had consistent smoke, but very light smoke which seems typical of this era. If you watch on large monitor you can see it when I stop train near end of video. I can also smell it, but it is very LIGHT smoke.
This train could use some oiling as per regular maintenance.
I saw a few paint chips on engine (hence the Excellent plus rating) Cars are like new in our opinion. Please see pics..
Units
were TESTED with conventional transformer and performed great forward, reverse,
lights, Chug sounds and LIGHT smoke. Great set! This model did not have a whistle.
These
will be carefully Packed for shipment. Please see my feedback.
Please see my store for many other great trains!
