Soen is a Swedish progressive metal band formed in 2010 by drummer Martin Lopez (ex-Opeth, ex-Amon Amarth) and bassist Steve DiGiorgio (Sadus, Testament, Death).
Cognitive (2012, Spinefarm Records) is their debut studio album, often compared to early Opeth and Tool for its mix of progressive complexity, atmosphere, and heavy groove. The record established Soen as one of the most exciting modern prog-metal bands.
