During the 1950's and early 1960's, the Asahiflex camera (forerunner to the Pentax) was distributed in the United States by Sears Roebuck & Co. under the Sears brand name "Tower".

Here we have the Tower 24, produced by the Asahi Optical Company between February 1955 and April 1957.

In non-U.S. Markets, this camera was sold as the Asahiflex IIB Model II.

(Note: I also have for sale in another listing, the Tower 24 based on the earlier Asahiflex IIB Model I produced from November 1954 - February 1955). Of the 30,000 examples produced, they were branded as the Asahiflex IIB Model I, Tower 23, or Tower 24. They are each considered highly collectible and rare finds).

There were two Tower versions of the Asahiflex IIB Model II. The Tower 23 came with the f/3.5 50mm Asahi Kogaku. The Tower 24 came with the f/2.4 58mm Asahi Kogaku.

This specific camera is in about as mint condition as you will find, however, the shutter curtain hangs up and likely needs a clean and lube, and the leather case hinge on the bottom has split. Someone may be able to sew it back together or you can find another case.

Comes with a f/2.4 58mm Asahi-Kogaku Takumar lens, s/n 90461
